She’d Been to 200 PD Sessions. Nature of You Was Her Favourite

Today's little kōrero, is gonna be about Nature of You, wānanga, that I've had multiple, and I wanna say multiple, lots and lots of 2-hour wānanga across the year so far.

But I wanted to highlight how cool that particular wānanga is, because famous academic slash poet, came to my wānanga when I held it at a university, and said she's been to 200 PD sessions, over 12 years, and she couldn't bear the thought of doing another workshop that repeated the same frameworks.

And she said mine was her favorite.

So, I don't know, but that for me is a bit of a GOAT moment, because leadership is probably the largest most affluent, saturated sector in terms of workshops and, development, and to have somebody of that nature say something to me about that is pretty cool.

And I guess the other flex is my dad came, my cousins came, my good friends came, teachers from my community came to the one we hosted at Te Ngahere and gave some incredible feedback.

So why am I sharing this with you?

One, we're gonna have Nature Review wānanga coming up. For those of you that are in the Facilitation Garden, if you're not in the Facilitation Garden, I'll put the link here.

But that will be part of your subscription. You will have access to Tetra Map wānanga, or Nature of You wānanga.

But I'm going to give you a little bit of an insight into what that actually is.

So, Nature of You, or Tetra Map.

I call it Nature of You because Nature of You is about a series of understanding leading yourself to lead others.

But what I want to share, particularly about that program tool approach, is that we, the metaphor is that we are all four types of elements.

It aligns beautifully with Te Ao Māori, beautifully with… nature beautifully with those of us that, are grounded.

In nature.

So… water, air, earth, fire are the elements.

And when you come to the Nature of You wānanga, you will get an opportunity to fill out a tool that helps highlight what your preferences are.

And so, what the cool flex about this particular wānanga is, is that you're not one.

you know, if you do other psychometric tools, or assessments, or personality profiles, they say, oh, you're this, that's it.

For me, it's a, you're a powerful, you're a D, You're playful, that's it, you're in a box.

But this one doesn't box you.

And so, just the gist of it, water is like, tell me how much you care, say hello first before asking me to do any work.

Air is, give me all the details.

Let me collect all the dots before I connect all the dots, make it make sense.

Fire is, give me some inspiration, give me what the vision is, match my energy.

Give me energy, give me vibes, and then Earth is just talent to me straight.

No fa- just facts, no fairy tales.

So, very quickly, that is what it's about.

I'll be having further opportunities for you to join us online.

Or if, for some of you, I have been able to come into your particular setting, but I think that's the gist of it.

But I wanted to give you a rundown of what that was, and I think the crux of it is, is that we have preferences in terms of how we communicate, but that doesn't necessarily mean that's how people want to receive information, right?

And so, in this one, we think about how do I communicate in a way that people feel like they hear me as intended?

So, without giving it all away, I can tell you it's a pretty great session.
