Te Ārahitanga Tūturu | The Authentic Leadership programme

Te Ārahitanga Tūturu | The Authentic leadership programme is a Ministry of Education funded programme specifically designed for kaiako teaching in Aotearoa New Zealand. It is an intense, high impact and high-accountability programme operating from February 2024 to June 2024 and will be based on the following themes:

  • Ko wai au? | Who am I? Know myself: This theme focuses on self-awareness, identity, and authentic leadership.
  • Ko wai koe? | Who are you? Know others: This theme emphasises cultural competence, empathy and respect, and effective communication.
  • Ko wai tātou? | Who are we? Know my team: This theme explores team identity and unity, collaboration, and strategic alignment

This programme is designed for centres that are committed to navigating educational leadership capability with a commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi and Te Ao Māori principles. This is not a Te Reo Māori me ona Tikanga course but an invitation to navigate through a Māori perspective on leadership and explore the impact on ourselves/others/our team, and the community.

In this professional learning opportunity you will have the following learning opportunities:

  • Centre visit from the facilitator (Naketa Ikihele)
  • Navigating leadership programme - Te hōtaka whanake i tō hautūtanga online community
  • 20 x 45-minute webinars
  • 3 x 1/2 hour coaching sessions with Naketa for each kaiako
  • Regular updates via email

I look forward to journeying with you all. If you have any questions please email [email protected]

What People Are Saying:

It's been great to reflect and refresh, learning about what's important to us as individuals and as a team. The recorded webinars will be really valuable to rewatch together as a team to reflect and discuss. Coaching has been awesome to look deeper into who I am and why I think and do the things I do. Thanks so much Naketa

Emily

From my perspective it’s awesome to recognise and rethink the purpose of why I became a teacher and to know me! Myself. I enjoy every moment of Naketa’s webinar and coaching that it’s important for all the teachers to reflect on being a teacher and knowing themselves.

Jay

I have gained a much clearer insight into who I am as an individual and what I have to offer as a leader for the children of the future.
